PFA-Typefaces is an independent digital type foundry established in 2020 by Martin Aleith (typeface designer and partner of Pfadfinderei™) as a platform to distribute his own typefaces. The foundry is based in Berlin, Germany. We have been designing display fonts for our own use for 20 years now. The repertoire is extensive and varied, which is why we are now willing to offer some selected typefaces to other designers.

Blending traditional nuances found in original grotesque wood type with the contemporary feel of International Typographic Style, PM Grotesk acts as a modest alternative to its 21st Century peers. Teardrops, contrast, and emotion give the family an approachable personality with understated values. Released with five weights, the family aims to naturally grow and expand over time.
