Abstract Reaction

Over the past few weeks I've been working on an experimental project called Abstract Reaction. a film about style and exploration of different representations of a spherical form. By using different methods and textures (Particles, liquid, smoke etc...) I tried to make every representation unique with its own dynamic and animation in an abstract way, without losing a round shape. My goal was to see how far I could go with a simple concept and I came up with 50, but for editing purposes and in order to stay dynamic, I preferred to show only 21 however I will show the others in a breadown or a tutorial. Thank you and I hope that you’ll enjoy it ______________________ Direction / Animation/ Design by Mehdi Hadi Soundtrack: “Minimalism” by Fugu vibes 3D: Cinema 4D, Realflow, TurbulenceFD Renderer: Octane Render, Compositing: After Effects, ______________________ Contact: Mehdi, Hadi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mehdi4d/ Mail: mehdi.hadi@free.fr

Self-Aware

SELF-AWARE is about the emergence of consciousness. Over millions of years, brains have evolved to become increasingly complex, with more and more layers of order. Is consciousness just an emergent property? Has there been a moment where suddenly the ‘lights went on’? Music: Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt (Death Of Aase) (Solomon Grey's Paradise Lost Rework) I usually don’t mention it, but this short film is rendered in 3K resolution, and you really shouldn’t be watching this on an iPhone. Please watch it on a massive screen, otherwise you won’t be immersed in the emergence of consciousness… If you want to find out more about my work and my techniques, visit www.julius-horsthuis.com

WoodSwimmer

A music video made entirely from wood for a song by bedtimes.xxx/music, WoodSwimmer is based on a concept I developed while designing a new stop-motion universe where wood is the primary element. The sequences are cross-sectional photographic scans of pieces of hardwood, burls and branches. It is a straightforward technique but one which is brutally tedious to complete. Thank you to colossal for the premiere! http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2017/06/woodswimmer-stop-motion-film/ More about the film at www.bfophoto.com/ More tunes at https://soundcloud.com/bedtimes Photo prints of the images below are available at: http://www.bfophoto.com/#woodswimmer-section

Words

Liz and I created our first personal project together, where we explored the expression of words and their creation of the visual world around us. We tend to not wanting to write a story, but more within the experimental form & whimsical sense. The video focus on the fundamentals of natural laws and laws of nature themselves.
